The Gupta is considered to be a golden age by a majority of historians that study India for its advancements in military, religion/belief, intellect, and economics. 
REASONS
  •  Military
    • Expansion over the whole of northern India
    • Conquered many kingdoms and civilizations
  • Strong jainist and Buddhist beliefs, leading to non violent societies
  • Literature flourished (Ex: Poetry) 
    • Kalidasa, a great indian poet, lived during this time.
  • Many mathematical and scientific advancements (Ex. Aryabhatta)
    • Aryabhatta was the first to discover zero (Contribution to mathematics)
    • Aryabhatta accurately describes Earth was a sphere and also it rotates on an axis (Contribution to Science).
  • Middle class throve, resulting in less poverty and greater economic stability within the empire
  • The Gupta empire embodies the saying "The rich got richer" as the the estates of the elites only grew. 
WHO WAS IT FOR: 
  •  People of all socio-economic backgrounds
    • The Gupta empire not only increased the wealth of the nobles and upperclass but also brought many people out of the lower class and into the middle class
  • People of different religion coming into India
    • Although India is a predominantly Hindu, people of different religions such as Buddhism and Jainism, were highly respected.
  • Math and sciences in general
    • With some of Aryabhatta's discoveries being the base of many frequently used in equations. Such as pi, which is used in area and circumference of a circle.
  • Literary artist
    • Literary artist usually take inspirations from other artist and change it to fit themselevcs
